| Abstract |
My doctoral dissertation analyses the British enthusiasm for the Italian Risorgimento and in particular the language and the structure of the English radical propaganda supporting the Italian cause. My research focuses on the period when the “myth of the Italian Risorgimento” – as Paul Ginsborg defined it – reached is top and particularly from the foundation of the People’s International League in 1847 until Garibaldi’s tour of Britain in 1864, the seal on the overwhelming British support for the Italian political cause. |
